Surprise real estate starts at $190,000 for a modest 2 bedroom 2 bath house, up to $1.5 on 5acres. Originally the city was the vision of a state legislator who subdivided the area into parcels. Surprise was later developed by such companies as Del Webb.

Even the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers have recently staked their real estate claim in Surprise, and have made it their home for spring training.

With an expected 300,000 population by 2020, Surprise city leaders have recently passed an updated general plan to prepare for future growth.
